Do you think white hair looks good on girls? Lately I've seen it on few TV characters and am impressed how it makes them look way prettier than their darker original hair! I think its beautiful specially if its with ancient costumes! but not for Kuwaiti girls :p

Starbucks has a new logo!

Starbucks remove their name on the logo and stay on the mermaid only! A strong message to the masses that starbucks can be recognized by simply a picture and no need for a text around it just like Apple Mac.

I think I like the new logo its modern and simple...Errr and I wont go through political issues ;p but some say that not having the brand's name on it makes it easier to cover up the real meaning of their logo...Conspiracy theory kinda thing ;r

Others say it's a smart way to cut the costs of printing since they removed one color which is black!

In all ways, it's good for them hehe

I was wondering why was the mermaid used as a logo in Starbucks? and i found this answer...

It was the intention of the original Starbucks founders to use the mermaid/siren to represent the seduction of the sea going mariners. In continuing with the metaphor, they were simply replacing the sirens seductive songs with the their tasty irresistible berverages.

It is based off Moby Dick and the character Starbuck who was a sailor who loved coffee. And sirens were seductive to sailors they would jump out of boats once they heard the sirens' songs. So it basically means that it is irrestible.

I read this article in http://arabcrunch.com/blog and I would really like to share it with you guys cuz its just amazing am so impressed of this little boy who actually made several iphone apps and not only that! they were on top 50 games in the US and got more than 800,000 downloads! WOW! it is really weird that no one knows about him and never mentioned him! i've just seen this article which was basically taken from p0ach.com Check it out here.

I tried Doodle Destroy 2 and i must say it is really good and challenging! I am going to take him as an example to my students!

KHAMACHEER is a garage sale I went to last Wednesday at the Shaab Soccer Field in Shaab Leisure Park. It was organized by the talented AUK student Fatma Al-Sumaity. I must say it was fun to buy all those books and stuff! They were extremely cheap! some books are worth half kd! and some movies for less!

The atmosphere was nice as well.. there was a live DJ and the organizers did their best to beat the hot weather with fans all over the place.
I just think that these activities should be held more often.. They are just different and new and am sure our society will be more open to having more garage sales simply because they are full of stuff you would never find anywhere else!

My message to exhibition organizers is to be more innovative and bring in new ideas to our society instead of repeating the same ideas with the same concept every time.

Way to go Fatma and wish you good luck in your future plans!

At the end of the year.. teachers got nothing to do.. we basically come from 7:30 to 1 doing absolutely nothing! We decided to watch a movie :p I don't think we should but do you really blame us? we're really bored here.. A whole month is a long time..

That is why teachers shouldn't go to work when they have nothing at all to do...

BBB cake is BlackBerry Birthday Cake ;p

My friend is a BB addict so i thought of giving her a lil surprise at work for her Birthday :p I asked BreadTalk to make me a cake that looks exactly like a BlackBerry mobile and I must say that they did a great job :D It's a 40X30cm so its pretty huge.

We had fun :)) Why don't you people try doin the same thing to those BB addicts all around Kuwait these days hehe.

Hello everyone

It's my birthday today 12th of March 2010. I'm 27. I blinked and all of a sudden I'm in my late 20's. I realize as well what an idiot i was in my late teens and 20's. Things I've said to people and things I've done hehe.
I spent the first hour of my b-day drawing this yummy cake ;p am just too old for the candles to fit my sweet cake haha..
my handwriting suks here!
I gotta question .. If you could re-live your life would you do it the same or different? Youth is indeed wasted on the young. Never mind. At least I have lived to be 27. Some people just don't.
Anyhow, I though of posting a photo of mine when i was young. It's me with my sister and my cousin. Am in the middle looking for something.. :)

While i was waiting for my car service to finish.. I remembered I had this app I downloaded "100 greatest short stories"

I went through the list and i decided to read one called "A Telephone Call" By Dorothy Parker and I'd like to share it with you since it is so interesting! Once you start reading the first few lines, you just can't stop!!

But what I really wanted to share is more than just the story. it's the message actually... I believe that waiting for something that is not coming is a waste of time and that we really shouldn't spend our lives waiting on something to happen, instead we should make things happen! I hope you read it and decide yourself.

There are specific social rules for using the telephone and these rules place men and women in different positions of power. Women are not supposed to call men while men are supposed to call women which gives men more power. For a woman, the man calling her when he says he will validates her self worth and confirms that he wants her. If he doesn't call her to her that signals that he doesn't care about her or want her. She is trapped because if she calls him he may resent it....Whatever she does she suffers. She is either stuck with herself and the thought that she is unwanted, or she can cause herself to be unwanted. All of this is caused by the etiquette surrounding the telephone and the differences in power between men and women.

This story is so powerful because it is so realistic. Most women can identify with the main character because these social rules still apply today. It is a reminder of how unequal society can be in its expectations for me and women. The humor seemed to lie in the fact that the behavior is typical and true.

My message to women is STOP BEING PATHETIC AND GET A LIFE :p

Are You punishing me, God, because I've been bad? Are You angry with me because I did that? Oh, but, God, there are so many bad people --You could not be hard only to me. If he doesn't telephone me, I'll know God is angry with me. I'll count five hundred by fives, and if he hasn't called me then, I will know God isn't going to help me, ever again. That will be the sign. Five, ten, fifteen, twenty, twenty-five, thirty, thirty-five, forty, forty-five, fifty, fifty-five. . . It was bad. I knew it was bad. All right, God, send me to hell. You think You're frightening me with Your hell, don't You? You think. Your hell is worse than mine.

I mustn't. I mustn't do this. Suppose he's a little late calling me up --that's nothing to get hysterical about. Maybe he isn't going to call--maybe he's coming straight up here without telephoning. He'll be cross if he sees I have been crying. They don't like you to cry. He doesn't cry. I wish to God I could make him cry. I wish I could make him cry and tread the floor and feel his heart heavy and big and festering in him. I wish I could hurt him like hell.

He doesn't wish that about me. I don't think he even knows how he makes me feel. I wish he could know, without my telling him. They don't like you to tell them they've made you cry. They don't like you to tell them you're unhappy because of them. If you do, they think you're possessive and exacting. And then they hate you. They hate you whenever you say anything you really think. You always have to keep playing little games. Oh, I thought we didn't have to; I thought this was so big I could say whatever I meant. I guess you can't, ever. I guess there isn't ever anything big enough for that. Oh, if he would just telephone, I wouldn't tell him I had been sad about him. They hate sad people. I would be so sweet and so gay, he couldn't help but like me. If he would only telephone. If he would only telephone.

Maybe that's what he is doing. Maybe he is coming on here without calling me up. Maybe he's on his way now. Something might have happened to him. No, nothing could ever happen to him. I can't picture anything happening to him. I never picture him run over. I never see him lying still and long and dead. I wish he were dead. That's a terrible wish. That's a lovely wish. If he were dead, he would be mine. If he were dead, I would never think of now and the last few weeks. I would remember only the lovely times. It would be all beautiful. I wish he were dead. I wish he were dead, dead, dead.

This is silly. It's silly to go wishing people were dead just because they don't call you up the very minute they said they would. Maybe the clock's fast; I don't know whether it's right. Maybe he's hardly late at all. Anything could have made him a little late. Maybe he had to stay at his office. Maybe he went home, to call me up from there, and somebody came in. He doesn't like to telephone me in front of people. Maybe he's worried, just alittle, little bit, about keeping me waiting. He might even hope that I would call him up. I could do that. I could telephone him.

I mustn't. I mustn't, I mustn't. Oh, God, please don't let me telephone him. Please keep me from doing that. I know, God, just as well as You do, that if he were worried about me, he'd telephone no matter where he was or how many people there were around him. Please make me know that, God. I don't ask YOU to make it easy for me--You can't do that, for all that You could make a world. Only let me know it, God. Don't let me go on hoping. Don't let me say comforting things to myself. Please don't let me hope, dear God. Please don't.

I won't telephone him. I'll never telephone him again as long as I live. He'll rot in hell, before I'll call him up. You don't have to give me strength, God; I have it myself. If he wanted me, he could get me. He knows where I ram. He knows I'm waiting here. He's so sure of me, so sure. I wonder why they hate you, as soon as they are sure of you. I should think it would be so sweet to be sure.

It would be so easy to telephone him. Then I'd know. Maybe it wouldn't be a foolish thing to do. Maybe he wouldn't mind. Maybe he'd like it. Maybe he has been trying to get me. Sometimes people try and try to get you on the telephone, and they say the number doesn't answer. I'm not just saying that to help myself; that really happens. You know that really happens, God. Oh, God, keep me away from that telephone. Kcep me away. Let me still have just a little bit of pride. I think I'm going to need it, God. I think it will be all I'll have.

Oh, what does pride matter, when I can't stand it if I don't talk to him? Pride like that is such a silly, shabby little thing. The real pride, the big pride, is in having no pride. I'm not saying that just because I want to call him. I am not. That's true, I know that's true. I will be big. I will be beyond little prides.

Please, God, keep me from, telephoning him. Please, God.

I don't see what pride has to do with it. This is such a little thing, for me to be bringing in pride, for me to be making such a fuss about. I may have misunderstood him. Maybe he said for me to call him up, at five. "Call me at five, darling." He could have said that, perfectly well. It's so possible that I didn't hear him right. "Call me at five, darling." I'm almost sure that's what he said. God, don't let me talk this way to myself. Make me know, please make me know.

I'll think about something else. I'll just sit quietly. If I could sit still. If I could sit still. Maybe I could read. Oh, all the books are about people who love each other, truly and sweetly. What do they want to write about that for? Don't they know it isn't tree? Don't they know it's a lie, it's a God damned lie? What do they have to tell about that for, when they know how it hurts? Damn them, damn them, damn them.

I won't. I'll be quiet. This is nothing to get excited about. Look. Suppose he were someone I didn't know very well. Suppose he were another girl. Google Doodle

Last month I read something about Google's mistake in displaying the Kuwait's National Day Doodle design on January instead of February 25th. Google team then apologized for that mistake and published this message:

"We wanted to use the Kuwaiti Google homepage as a way to commemorate Kuwait’s Independence Day and designed a great Doodle which appeared on the www.google.com.kw homepage today January 26th… but we’re all subject to human error and we made one today by posting the Doodle one month too soon. All we can say is oops! But the design a new logo for the right date on February 25th, which means that Kuwait will be the only country to ever have two Doodles for their national day in the same year!"

I agree that we are lucky to have two designs in the same year but don't you think the first design is way better than the second! They simply removed the background and added a map at the end. I find the blue background with Kuwait towers much more beautiful than the current one. Don't you agree?
Besides, the map shape at the end is not even close to the 'e' letter. It looks like an 'a'
Am so disappointed since I've been waiting for the new design.. :(

حدث ذلك كجزء من عرض مواهب رائع أقامته جامعة الخليج بالكويت تحت مسمى

'The Talent Show' organized by The Talent Club in G.U.S.T university

فعن طريق مدونه فرانكوم التي قادتني إلى مدونه ون لايف تو ليف والتي عن طريقها قمت بالمشاركة في مسابقة وضع تعليق للحصول على تذكرتين وبالتالي استنتاجي باستحالة الفوز لحظي العاثر دائما لذا قررت الذهاب بنفسي والحصول على التذاكر... هذا بالإضافة لعلمي المسبق بعدم توافر مكان آخر مناسب لقضاء آخر يوم بالسنه بسبب تهديدات هايف ..على كل حال كنت سعيدة جدا بحصولي على التذكرة و في الحقيقة أجد بأن سعر التذاكر رمزي جدا ولايتناسب مع ماقدمة الطلبة والطالبات في العرض من إبداعات في التمثيل والعزف والغناء! فبمقارنة بسيطة بين فناني الكوميديا الكويتيه التى تعرض أعمالهم على أغلب الشاشات العربية والمسارح الكويتية وما بين مواهب الطلبة في هذا العرض أجد فرق شاسع فليس من السهل إضحاك الجمهور بشكل متواصل حتى نهاية العرض. فأبو مهدي وأبو صالح و أبو محمد - وهي أسماء بعض الشخصيات التي قامت بتمثيل مشاهد مسرحية في العرض- قد فاقوا داود حسين وطارق العلي وانتصار الشراح - أهم عناصر الكوميديا بالكويت في اعتقادي -أداءا وتمثيلا وارتجالا

عذرا لعدم تذكري أسماء الممثلين و كل من المخرج والمؤلف لمسرحية "لاس فيغا" و لكن أشكركم الشكر الجزيل لعبقريتكم وحسن أدائكم فالعبرة من القصة كانت حقا مؤثرة وصادقة وحتى أكون واضحة مع أعزائي القراء فالقصة باختصار تتمحور حول ثلاثة رجال كبار بالسن يجلسون في مقهى ويقررون السفر إلى لاس فيغاس إلا أن كون كل واحد فيهم أعمى البصر أدى إلى توجه كل واحد منهم إلى بوابة مختلفة في المطار وبالتالي السفر إلى وجهة مختلفة!! فالأول يسافر إلى العراق والثاني إلى مصر والثالث إلى فلسطين وهنا يبدأ المشاهد في استيعاب العبرة من القصة وهي باختصار بأنه على الرغم من سوء الأوضاع في الكويت سياسيا واقتصاديا و إلى أخره إلا أننا أفضل حالا من بعض الدول الأخرى. كل ذلك في قالب كوميدي ساخر ومميز في آن واحد

تحديث للفقره السابقه: اتضح بأن المخرج والمؤلف هو الأخ المبدع شملان محمد الحساوي طالب في جامعة الخليج للعلوم والتكنلوجيا

ولن أنسى كذلك المبدع روجر أو راكان وهي شخصية شاب كويتي قادم من انجلترا للدراسة في جامعة قست وهي شخصية تمثل شريحة معينة بالمجتمع يقوم بعرض بعض مواقف من يوميات قست المضحكة . فقد أتقن الدور وقدم عرض حيوي رائع ومزج مابين التمثيل الكوميدي والغناء بلغات ولهجات مختلفة

الملفت كذلك وجود مواهب موسيقية مميزة ألقاها ثلاثة طلاب كويتيين يعزفون مقاطع أسبانية جميلة تتماشى مع إضاءات المسرح التى عيشتنا جو هاديء ممتع لم نعهده من قبل في الكويت يطلق عليهم اسم جاسم فلامنجو

وكذلك المشهد السياسي التمثيلي لمجموعة موهوبه من الشباب والشابات لتجسيد ما يحدث في جلسات مجلس الأمة والتركيز على قضايا مهمة تؤرق المجتمع الكويتي بشكل متكرر

في الحقيقة لا أعرف من أين أبدأ وأين أنتهي ولكني حقا أتمنى استمرار وانتشار عروض كهذه في الكويت خصوصا مع مقدمي الحفل اللذان أمتعونا بعفويتهم وابتعادهم عن الرسمية في التقديم وهو شيء جديد نسبيا وعتبي على قلة العنصر النسائي في العرض والتأخير البسيط في بدء العرض

خلص تقرير رئيس الوزراء البريطاني الاسبق توني بلير حول رؤيته للكويت بحلول عام 2030 الى ضرورة اتخاذ اجراءات قوية وفاعلة لانقاذ التعليم العام والجامعي، والا فإن مستقبل الكويت في خطر.

وقال بلير في تقريره ان تطوير التعليم مسألة بقاء.. والتقاعس يعني الفشل في مواكبة تحديات المستقبل واعداد جيل قادر على العمل.

وتضمن التقرير، الذي حصلت «القبس» على نسخة منه، تحليلا للوضع الراهن وتحديدا لأسباب الانهيار الحاصل. وحدد اجندة الاصلاح ب‍5 توصيات تشمل تعزيز مهنة التدريس ورفع مستوى مواءمة الاداء وتكييفه عند الطلبة ورفع مستوى مواءمة الأداء للمدرّس، فضلا عن تطوير التعليم الجامعي والمهني وتوسيع نطاق العروض التعليمية وتدويل النظام.

وجاء في التقرير ان الطلبة الكويتيين حصدوا المواقع الاخيرة، اي في مؤخرة ترتيب المشاركين في الامتحانات الدولية، رغم ان الانفاق على التعليم في الكويت هو الاعلى عالميا (8.3% من الناتج المحلي مقابل 3.1% في سنغافورة و1.3% في الامارات على سبيل المثال). وكشف ان 10% من المواطنين تجاوزوا تعليمهم الجامعي، وعددا كبيرا لم ينجح في تجاوز الثانوية العامة.

وعن اسباب هذا الواقع التعليمي المرير، يقول بلير في تقريره ان منح الدرجات العلمية في مختلف المراحل لا يخضع لمعايير موحدة، وان مدرسين يمنحون الدرجات وفقا لنفوذ عائلات الطلبة! وحدد جملة اسباب، منها انخفاض راتب المدرسين الكويتيين ومحدودية فرص التطوير المهني، فضلا عن تدني نسب القبول في كلية التربية التي وصفها التقرير بانها نظرية للغاية ولا تقحم الطلبة في ميدان العمل.

وشدد التقرير على ضرورة توحيد نظام الامتحانات ومنح اولياء الامور حرية اختيار المدارس لابنائهم بغض النظر عن المنطقة التي يقطنونها، مشيرا في الوقت نفسه الى اهمية اعطاء القطاع الخاص دورا اساسيا في تولي التعليم لتحقيق المنافسة.

وحمّل التقرير وزارتي التربية والتعليم العالي المسؤولية عن الخلل في ثقافة الاداء الذي ادى الى عدم القدرة على تقويم اداء المدرس.

أسباب التردي:

رواتب منخفضة

فرص التطور محدودة

كلية التربية.. نظرية

لا نظام موحداً للامتحانات

خلل الأداء يؤدي إلى:

معايير مختلفة لتقويم التلاميذ

لا تصنيف للمدارس

خلل في منح الدرجات

غياب المنافسة

أرقام من التقرير:

- الإنفاق على التعليم في الكويت 8.3% من الناتج المحلي مقابل 3.1% في سنغافورة.

- مدرس لكل 11 تلميذاً مقابل مدرس لكل 17 تلميذاً في دول التعاون.

- معدل الالتحاق بالجامعة 27%.. وفي كوريا مثلاً 84%.

- 10% من المواطنين فقط تجاوزوا التعليم الجامعي.

أجندة الإصلاح

1 ـــ تعزيز مهنة التدريس.. ومكافحة الواسطة في التعيينات.

2 ـــ رفع مستوى أداء الطلبة وتوحيد الامتحانات في المدارس.

3 ـــ رفع مستوى أداء المدارس والسماح للقطاع الخاص بالإدارة مع خلق بيئة تنافسية.

4 ـــ تطوير التعليم الجامعي وإنشاء فروع لجامعات عريقة.

سادت حالة من الفوضى والملل في ندوة نظمتها وزارتي التربية والصحة حول موضوع انفلونزا الخنازيرحيث ارتفع صوت المتحلطمات من المعلمات الآتيات من عدة مدارس بعز الشمس للاستفادة من الندوه ومعرفة كيفية التعامل مع المرض في حالة حدوثة. فبعد الانتهاء من النشيد الوطني تساءل الحضور عن سبب مجيئهن حيث اقتصرت الندوة على "تعليم" المدرسات اتباع العادات الصحية السليمة مثل غسل الصحون بعد أكل الطعام وغسل الحمامات والملابس!!! بالإضافة إلى فيديو تعليمي يبين كيفية غسل اليدين والملفت بالفيديو استخدام اللهجة المصرية في كتابة الخطوات حيث تفاجئ الحضور بعنوان "إزاي تغسل إيديك؟" واتباعة بخطوات غسل اليدين باستخدام مصطلحات مثل "دلوقتي" و "حنعرف" فالمعلمة يجب أن تغسل يديها من جميع الجوانب ولايجب أن تنسى غسل صبع صبع كما هو موضح بالفيديو المتعوب عليه وأن تغلق صنبور المياة بعد ماتمش ايدها يعني لاترشيد ولايحزنون. هذا بالإضافة إلى فيديو تعليمي آخر يبين للمعلمات كيف يعطسن وكيف يلبسن الكمام...لا تعليق

أنا مادري شنو نظرة الوزارة لنا كمعلمات ولكن بعد اللي شفته وضحت الصورة

بالنسبة لهم المعلمة ماتعرف تتبع أبسط سبل النظافة عشان جذي مودينا ندوه فاشلة عشان حضرة الوزير والوزيرة يبرون ذمتهم ومايستجوبونهم اذا مات جم طالب بعدين ..خو احنا سوينا اللي علينا!! لا ونظامهم قصب طيب تروحون الندوة موقعين ستمية ألف توقيع حضور وانصراف. وبعدين معقولة نقعد ساعتين نسمع وحدة ماتعرف أساسيات تقديم ندوة ومعصبة وتعطي نظرات مادري ليش وبالأخير مانستفيد شي؟ أو يقولون لنا شي من البديهي ان كل انسان يعرفة؟ ياناس! ياعالم! ترا احنا ناس متعلمة ومتحضره محنا متخلفين مانعرف نغسل ايدنا! شنو هالمهزلة؟

ياوزارة التربية أي نظافة أي بطيخ أنتو من صجكم؟ نظفو المدارس أول وصفوف الطالبات

حطونا في بيئة مناسبة صدورنا راحت من الغبار والوصاخة والله احنا اللي مسكنا الفوط والديتول وقعدنا ننظف الصفوف

هذا غيض من فيض وهذي بداية العام والخافي أعظم

بالصدفه وجدت هذا الفيديو على يوتيوب وهو عباره عن مقطع كارتوني قديم لديزني يبين مدى معاناة المعلم مع طلاب الصف وأولياء الأمور في قالب كوميدي وعلى الرغم من كل العوائق التي تواجه المعلم في يومه إلا أنه يبقى متفائلا ومبتسما ومتفانيا في عملة

شخصية قوفي في ديزني هي خير مثال للمعلم المثابر والصبور والقادر على مواجهة المواقف والسلوكيات والمتغيرات والتي في رأيي نفتقدها كثيرا هنا فالمعلم يتعامل مع التدريس كوظيفه أو عمل فقط ولا ينسجم ويتعامل مع طلبته من أجل أداء واجبه بدقة وأمانة. فالمعلم الذي لا ينسجم مع طلبته ومحيطه يبقى معلما جامدا طوال فتره خدمته يقوم بتلقين الطلبة نفس المفاهيم والعبارات ويردد نفس الأفكار التي تؤثر على الطلبة سلبا وتسبب أزمة تعليمية كبيرة

هذه رسالة إلى كل معلم لم يحالفة الحظ في اختيارالمهنة التي يرغب بها واتجه إلى التدريس صدفة أو عن طريق ظروف غير ملائمة كاختيارهم للتدريس رغم إرادتهم. إن فاقد الشيء لا يعطيه فالمعلم غير المحب لعملة لن يجد المتعة فيه ولن تهون عليه صعاب التعليم وبالطبع لن يستطيع نفع الطلبة بشيء. أتمنى بهذه الرسالة البسيطة تغيير وجهات نظر كثيرة. كل عام وأنتم بخير

منذ مدة أتابع أخبار انفلونزا الخنازير وتطوراتها بالكويت خصوصا مع اقتراب حلول العام الدراسي الجديد وكوني معلمة فسوف أختلط مع المعلمات الكويتيات و غير الكويتيات الآتيات من كافة بقاع العالم بالإضافة إلى الإختلاط مع الطالبات فمن حقي القلق خصوصا بعد تصريح صحفي في جريدة القبس يبشر بالخير حيث قامت وزارتي الصحة والتربية بطرح حل يقضي على مخاوف جميع المعلمات وأولياء الأمور والطلبة وهو

وفي مقالة أخرى تبين استعدادات المدارس الخاصة بهذا الشأن فقد ذكرت نائب صاحب مدرسة الكويت الإنكليزية نائلة السداح

أن إدارة المدرسة ستبدأ خلال الأيام المقبلة بإرسال رسائل قصيرة إلى أولياء أمور الطلبة لإبلاغهم بضرورة فحص أبنائهم في إدارة الصحة الوقائية للتأكد من خلوهم من أي أمراض قبل بدء موعد الدراسة في مدرسة الكويت الإنكليزية في الثاني من شهر سبتمبر المقبل

أنا لا أطالب بتأجيل العام الدراسي ولكن لنا الحق باستعدادات أكبر تناسب حجم مخاوفنا وعلى الرغم من محاولة وزارة الصحة بالتقليل من شأن مرض انفلونزا الخنازير والتأكيد يوميا على أنه ليس طاعونا إلا أن الوقاية خير من العلاج وتقارير منظمة الصحة العالمية تبين أهمية أخذ كافة الاحتياطات ولا أعني هنا التحصن بكمامات! أرجو أن لا يتم الاستهانة بالموضوع والبدء في عمل اللازم من الاستعدادات الوقائية حتى لا نكون ضحية وزارتين في حيره من أمرهما! وسلامتكم

تعتمد المدارس على ضرب الطلاب على رؤوسهم بمصطلحات دعائيه عن الديمقراطية وذلك لأنها لا تقوم بتعليم الحقيقة حول واقع العالم. فلو كانت المدارس بالواقع ديمقراطية فلن يكون هنالك داع لقصف الطلاب بتفاهات عن الديمقراطية لأنهم ببساطة سيتصرفون ويمثلون الديمقراطية لو كانت مطبقة. فكلما كانت هنالك حاجة للتحدث عن المثل العليا للديمقراطية كلما كان النظام أقل ديمقراطية

مقارنه بين المعلم الكويتي والأجنبي

كان عندي فضول من زمان ان ودي أعرف اكثر عن نظام التدريس في الدول الثانيه وحاولت كذا مره أدور بقوقل بس مالقيت شي يشبع فضولي!
عشان جذي قررت أني اسأل مجموعه من المعلمين في بعض دول العالم مثل تركيا وكندا والأرجنتين والبرازيل و أسبانيا و روسيا والمغرب ولبنان والإمارات و غيرهم كثير عن طريق سايت مخصص للمعلمين توني صايره عضوه فيه

اللي صار إني سألتهم وحصلت على معلومات ممكن لو نطبق بعضها هني تفيد المعلم وتحببه بالتدريس خصوصا أن كل من صار مدرس هالأيام قعدله سنتين وانحاش من التربيه

لما ييت أقارن بين نظامنا ونظامهم في معاملة المعلم بشكل عام لقيت إن

أولا: معظم المعلمين يدرسون ما بين 25 إلى 30 ساعه بالإسبوع يعني تقريبا خمس ساعات باليوم وفي بعضهم يدرسون 12 ساعه باليوم. احنا بالكويت ندرس ساعتين إلى ثلاث ساعات باليوم وباجي اليوم قاعدين نتريق لول (غشمره). يعني أفهم أن المدرس هناك مكرس وقته وجهده للتدريس وجاد بشغله على الرغم من أن معظمهم يقولون أن معاشاتهم قليله بس اهمه حابين شغلهم. عكس اهني الأغلبيه يايين عشان المعاش ونادرا ما تلقى مدرس حاب التدريس! 24 ساعه تحلطم.

ثانيا: معدل عدد الطلبه في فصولهم حوالي 25 يعني مثلنا تقريبا. ماعدا الأرجنتين 15 طالب بالفصل واسرائيل 40 طالب بالفصل!! وأنا اقول لو نصير مثل الأرجنتين وايد أحسن :)

ثالثا: في تشابه كبير بينا وبين السعوديه من حيث عدد المراحل. يعني كل معلم يدرس مرحله أو مرحلتين بالكثير ماعدا في حالات النقص يقوم المعلم بتدريس ثلاث مراحل. بس في دول ثانيه مثل البرازيل و مقدونيا وكندا والمغرب وتركيا وغيرهم يدرسون أكثر من ماده في نفس الوقت مثلا علوم وانجليزي نفس ما اهني مسوين بمشروع مدارس المستقبل.

رابعا: بالنسبه للتحضير للدروس فمعظم الدول خصوصا الأجنبيه يقومون بوضع خطه شهريه شاملة ولا يقومون بالتحضير اليومي اللي ماله معنى هني عندنا لأن بالنسبه لي هذا اجراء شكلي ويضيع جهد ووقت. ما أقول ان كل واحد يألف منهج على كيفه بس ان في دليل معلم متاح متى ما احتاجله المعلم. هني اللي مايحضر يعني مسوي جريمه!! هذا دليل على عدم ثقتهم بمستوى المعلم على الرغم من أن في بعض المعلمين يحضرون يوميا و مايدرون شنو كتبو التحضير اليومي عباره عن كوبي بيست من دليل المعلم وما أدري شالعبره من الموضوع.

خامسا: ومن أهم النقاط اللي اكتشفتها من خلال أسئلتي أن معظم الدول يقوم فيها المعلم بإعطاء حصصه اليوميه والذهاب للبيت أو الحضور على موعد الحصص أما هني فحتى لو عندي فرضا أول حصتين مادري ليش انا ملزومه اقعد ليما الساعه 1 وثلث أو لو عندي أخر حصتين ليش أيي من الصبح! هذا دليل على أن يبونا نكون أكثر من مجرد معلمين على حسب تفسيري وأفضل إني ما أقارن وزارة التربيه مع أي وزاره ثانيه لان احنا حاله خاصه.

سادسا: سألت المعلمين إذا كانو يقومون بأعمال إداريه غير التدريس مثل المناوبه أو الإشراف أو المقصف إلخ.. واكتشفت ان الدول العربيه اهي اللي تستخدم المعلم كمدرس و كإداري بنفس الوقت يعني مكدشينا أما الدول الأجنبيه فمعظمهم مدرسين فقط و إذا كان عندهم مراقبه فتكون شهريه مو اسبوعيه (ياحظهم)

هذا بالإضافه إلى عدة أسئلة أخرى بس أنا حبيت أذكر أهم النقاط

واللي لفت نظري معلم إماراتي يقول أن الوضع التعليمي بالكويت مشابه للوضع التعليمي بالإمارات ولكن الحكومه عندهم قاعده تغير وايد أشياء عن طريق مشروع (الغد) واللي أهم أهدافه أن يقومون باستبدال الهيئه الإدارية بمتمرسين وخبراء أجانب يطبقون نظام التدريس المستخدم في بريطانيا حاليا

تستاهلون دام في ناس تفكر وتغير وتطمح للأحسن والفال لنا

طبعا الإنسان الراقي تعرفه من حسن كلامه وحسن المعاملة والابتسامة والتواضع لكن اللي انا شفته في زيارة لأحد القنوات الفضائية الكويتيه للمشاركة في برنامج مسابقات "للأطفال" يبث يوميا حوالي الساعه الثالثه كان عكس ذلك تماما!

البداية كانت مع أحد ال Staff اللي خلف الكواليس

قبل بداية البرنامج قررنا نصور الطالبات كذكرى أمام الاستديو وماوعينا إلا الأخ يحاجينا بلهجه حادة "يلا طلعوو منو قالكم تييون هني يلا يلا لا تكسرون الكاميرا؟"

شالضيافة؟ شالأدب؟ شالأخلاق؟ شالمعاملة؟ ترا مو طرارة السالفة! مادري الأخ شايف شواذي جدامه مو معلمات مع طالباتهم!!!

صج ماكو لباقة والشرهه مو عليه على اللي مخليه هناك

طبعا ما سكتله عطيته جم كلمه بالصميم ولكن كنت مهذبه بكلامي لاني حاطه اعتبار حق الناس اللي حوالي وخصوصا الأطفال.

بعد انتظار....

وصلت المذيعه الراقيه بتعاملها ولبسها! ولا سلمت ولا رحبت بالموجودين و أول كلمة سمعناها منها شنو تتوقعون؟ لا وجدام الطلاب والطالبات اللي ما يتعدى عمرهم عشر سنوات؟

"فلااان الله يلعنك" بصوت عالي وضحكات هستيريه ونغزات وحركات لا تليق ببرنامج مخصص للأطفال!!!

من حسن حظي ان احنا خسرنا بالمسابقه عشان لا نتأهل للنهائيات و لا أكرر هذي التجربة اللي ممكن نسميها مهزلة بمعنى الكلمة.

كنت أتوقع معاملة وايد أرقى و ألبق من جذي.

ملاحظة: ما انكر وجود بعض الأشخاص المميزين بتعاملهم معانا واشكرهم على حسن تعاملهم "لو خليت خربت" ولكن للأسف التجربة بشكل عام سيئة جدا جدا!

The other day I went to "COLOR ME MINE" with my friend Navy Girl. We spent like 5 hours or so trying to figure out how to paint this thing! With the help of the staff there we managed to learn so quickly and make a piece of art!

I call mine a piece of art..i dunno about Navy..it looks like a piece of %#@#^ hehe ;p

How about you judge ppl? which one is better MINE OBAMA or "hers" McCain? LOL ;p

بما ان احنا بموسم قرقيعان والأقوال متضاربة عن أصل القرقيعان بعضهم يقول اهو احتفال بمولد النبي والبعض يقلد وبس ومايدري شالموضوع حبيت أذكر لكم أحد التجارب التي أجريت على القرود والمقاربة جدا لتصرفات الإنسان! عموما التجربة ممكن أن تقارن مع عدة عادات وتقاليد وتصرفات احنا نتبعها بدون ما نتساءل عن سببها!
الموضوع باللغة الإنجليزية بس ترجمته بالعربي

Start with a cage containing five monkeys. Inside the cage, hang a banana on a string and place a set of stairs under it. Before long, a monkey will go to the stairs and start to climb towards the banana. As soon as he touches the stairs, all of the other monkeys are sprayed with cold water. After a while, another monkey makes an attempt with the same result, and all the other monkeys are sprayed with cold water. Pretty soon the monkeys will try to prevent it.

Now, put away the cold water. Remove one monkey from the cage and replace it with a new one. The new monkey sees the banana and wants to climb the stairs. To his surprise and horror, all the other monkeys attack him. After another attempt and attack, he knows that if he tries to climb the stairs he will be attacked.

Next, remove another of the original five monkeys and replace it with a new one. The newcomer goes to the stairs and is attacked. The previous newcomer takes part in the punishment with enthusiasm! Likewise, replace a third original monkey with a new one, then a fourth, then the fifth.

Every time the newest monkey takes to the stairs, he is attacked. Most of the monkeys that are beating him have no idea why they were not permitted to climb the stairs or why they are participating in the beating of the newest monkey. After replacing all the original monkeys, none of the remaining monkeys have ever been sprayed with cold water. Nevertheless, no monkey ever again approaches the stairs to try for the banana.

Why not? Because as far as they know, that’s the way it’s always been done around there.

تبدأ التجربة بإحضار قفص فيه خمسة قرود. داخل القفص يوجد موزة معلقة على خيط وبأسفلها سلم من عدة درجات. بفترة وجيزة، سيتجه أحد القرود إلى السلم ويبدأ بالتسلق نحو الموزه المعلقه. وما إن يلمس السلم حتى يتم رش باقي القرود الأربعة بماء بارد. وبعد مده، يقوم قرد آخر بالمحاولة مرة أخرى للحصول على الموزة ويتم رش الماء البارد مرة أخرى على باقي القرود وسرعان ما سيلاحظ بأن جميع القرود ستمنع أي قرد يحاول أخذ الموزة.

والآن، يوضع الماء البارد جانبا ولا يتم استخدامة مرة أخرى بالتجربة. ويتم التخلص من أحد القرود الخمسة واستبدالة بقرد آخر. يقوم القرد الجديد برؤية الموزة المعلقة ويحاول تسلق السلم ويتفاجىء بهجوم حاد من القرود الأخرى! وبعد محاولة أخرى من نفس القرد وهجوم آخر من القرود، يعلم القرد بأن تسلق السلم سيليه هجوم لذلك يكف عن المحاولة.

وفي هذه المرحلة من التجربة، يتم التخلص من أحد القرود الأساسية واستبداله بقرد جديد. يقوم القرد الجديد بمحاولة تسلق السلم ويتم مهاجمته من قبل القرود الأربعة بما فيهم القرد الذي تم إدخالة مؤخرا حيث يقوم بالمهاجمة بكل حماس! وكما سبق يتم استبدال قرد ثالث بآخر جديد وكذلك رابع وخامس.

وكلما يحاول قرد جديد صعود السلم يهاجم. وبذلك يكون معظم القرود التي تهاجم القرد الجديد ليس لديهم أدنى فكره لما لايتم لهم السماح بصعود السلم ولا يعلمون لم يشاركون بضرب القرد الجديد. وبعد استبدال جميع القرود الأساسية بأخرى (حيث لايتم رش الماء البارد عليهم كما قبل ذلك). إلا أن لا أحد من القرود الجديدة يقوم بالإقتراب من السلم لأخذ الموزة. لم لا؟ لأنه على حسب علمهم هذه هي الطريقة المتبعة هناك.

The beginning of the school year is always filled with anticipation and not just for the kids. I often get many worries and visions of what this year is going to be like. I always ask myself what will i do when the door closes and all those lil faces are looking up at me, will I do a good job? am i going to keep my students attentive and treat them in a fair and lovely way?

There are many scary feelings to face just before starting. Perhaps this is a normal feeling for anyone anticipating something of great importance to him/her.

I hope this year go smoothly! I've had enough problems last year not with the kids though..
I am full of hope for the better and i really have great expectations for this year and if i get disappointed in anyway i think am not gonna go ahead and continue in this career!

Teaching kids is a wonderful experience. Yet, the system here in Kuwait makes almost every teacher hate his/her job.

There are tremendous negative sides in the system of the Ministry of Education in Kuwait that i will go through in my future posts. Someone should finally talk!

I will try not to be negative already and wish everyone a HAPPY SCHOOL YEAR! including |(teachers/students/ staff/ parents..etc)

Why so serious?

One of the best movies i have seen in a long time! Although am not a big fan of marvel heroes, i really found this movie phenomenal and a true masterpiece! This movie is not just a comic story its more like a dark drama and i love drama movies! maybe thats what made it so special in addition to Ledger's acting of course. I felt like i was watching a "modern" Shakespearean play rather than a comic story. Don't you agree?

The joker's acting was superior to everyone else even Batman! I wish he was alive to see what great work he has done with his role. This reminds me of Harvey Dent when he says "You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain". Well, as i see it, Heath Ledger died as a hero :)

What makes the joker more interesting is that although he is COMPLETELY insane, he makes a lot of sense when he talks! right?
Here are my favorite quotes of the joker:

1-"Do you wanna know why I use a knife? Guns are too quick. You can't savor all the... little... emotions. In... you see, in their last moments, people show you who they really are. Such a great date and timing huh? am talking about "the Olympics in Beijing"

Those Chinese are really amazing. I'm truly excited and cannot wait to watch the grand opening. Can you believe that there are over 700 million tickets available in total. This means the Beijing Olympic 2008 is expecting all those people to come to see the event from all over the world! wow!

I wonder if Kuwait can handle 700 million visitors if we assume that the Olympics is held here? uhhhh nevermind its just me and my brain again!

It is with a great pleasure that I begin my blog. Since it is my first blog, I thought I should take a little space to introduce myself as a way to start what I hope will be an ongoing conversation related to every aspect of life.

First off, you can call me "miss" pOsha ;p, currently i am a 25 year old female who lives in Kuwait. Obviously from my profile, i work as an EFL teacher for primary stage. My main point of this blog is to explore current issues affecting our daily life. In addition to talking about issues related to my work field as a teacher.

Why "Chaotic pOsha"?

Well, as I was thinking of a nickname that simply describes my world, I found that chaos is more like it. It is not necessarily a negative description though. The world can sometimes be a very confusing and irritating place. On other times it can be a very fabulous and beautiful place. My thoughts are always wandering as I have so many things going on in my mind. Hrmmmm, I really hope this gave a little clue about my chaotic personality!
